You’re Why I Don’t Like Having Dreams Anymore – Miss Macross [Fiction]

You’re Why I Don’t Like Having Dreams Anymore

I asked my deck,

“How can I crush unrequited love?”

My card, in response, was the Ace of Cups.

You know nothing about tarot, but you think it’s cool.

When you find out I read, you say,

“I read some Aleister Crowley in undergrad.”

Anyway. You don’t know what this means.

Ace of Cups means

“Love’s Beginnings.”

I don’t know what this means, either.

This gives me more questions.

I light lavender incense to relax.

You always make me so tense.

Why?

You don’t seem worth the exercise.

Speaking of which,

I started exercising for you.

Sometimes I remember you’re why.

Sometimes I’ll be doing crunches on

my boyfriend’s decorative rug

and cry.

Just sad little creepers

dripping out the corners

of closed eyes.
